Live Music: Otis Wilkins

Otis Wilkins is the indie-folk and psychedelic-pop persona of Taylor Wilkins, a versatile centerpiece of the Austin, Texas, music community who is also the frontman for the hard-rock outfit Otis the Destroyer.

While his work with the Destroyer is characterized by high-octane riffs and rowdy energy, his solo project as Otis Wilkins—a moniker honoring his father’s college nickname and his first dog—allows for a more experimental “sonic adventure”.

This project blends elements of ’60s and ’70s pop with modern indie sensibilities, often featuring a signature falsetto and “slacker-inspired” vocals.
