Live Music: John Prather

John Prather is a seasoned solo acoustic singer-guitarist based in Austin, Texas, with more than 20 years of live performance experience playing classic rock, ’90s favorites, modern country, and well-known covers that appeal to a broad audience.

Born and raised in McAllen, TX, Prather moved to Austin in the early 2000s to pursue his passion for music and quickly became a regular on the local scene, performing on 6th Street, at restaurants, bars, private parties, weddings, and corporate events.

His live shows feature a diverse set list ranging from Stone Temple Pilots and Blind Melon to Johnny Cash and contemporary country hits, delivered with strong vocals and engaging guitar work.
