40th Annual Wish Upon A Smile

Austin Smiles – The Austin Plastic Surgery Foundation is celebrating a major milestone this fall with its 40th Annual Wish Upon A Smile Gala on November 7, 2026, in Starlight Terrace at The Oasis on Lake Travis. For four decades, Austin Smiles has provided life-changing surgical care to children born with cleft lip and palate across Central Texas and Latin America, giving thousands of children hope, confidence, and the ability to live, happy, healthy and productive lives.

Gala Co-Chairs: Dina Melhem and Blanca Ibarra are leading the gala planning committee for this monumental occasion. “This year is about more than a gala. It’s about inviting the entire community into the mission,” said Kathy, Community Engagement Director. “Even if you can’t attend in person, you can still help change a child’s life by participating in the auction, donating, or sharing our mission!”

We will be honoring Dr. Fred Wilder and Dr. Bill Gorman with the 8th Annual Cullington, Fox, Beckham International Service Award. Two of Austin Smiles’ founding surgeons who have spent decades changing the lives of children and families in the most meaningful ways.

The event will be emceed by Yvonne Nava of KVUE and featuring a live musical performance by Grammy Award winner Grupo Fantasma. More than 350 guests are expected to attend the in-person event, which begins at 5 PM. And thousands will be viewing the livestream available on Austin Smiles’ Facebook and YouTube platforms starting at 6:30 PM.
