Live Music: John Krupa Project

John Krupa Project is an electric blues rock’n’roll band based in Austin TX. John started the project in New Orleans, LA in 2022 and has played throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

The group plays deep groove, blues-based rock’n’roll, heavily influenced by the Hill Country blues of RL Burnside, Jr Kimborough as well as the Rolling Stones, Black Keys, the Sonics and the Stooges.

John Krupa cut his teeth playing punk rock in Connecticut and Minneapolis, MN in the ’90s and since then he’s lived on the west coast and continued his journey into the deep south where the roots of American music– rock’n’roll, blues, and soul continue to influence and guide his sound.

While focussing on writing and recording his original songs, the group also plays carefuly selected covers for long shows– deep cuts of blues, rock’n’roll, soul and funk. The sound that comes out is a product of the experiences lived.
